"If you're a fan of Jason Statham then you'll know what to expect with this one. The formulaic story of a one man army righting some wrongs and taking out anyone that gets in his way. In this story an ex-military construction worker vows to get his boss's daughter back after she's been taken by Russian human traffickers. Great action sequences and as expected, Statham saves the day and kicks everyone's a$$ while doing it. Nothing groundbreaking but still a fun watch. 8/10"
"This movie gets 1 star because the only thing I liked about it was the fight scenes and the guns. It's your typical Jason Statham movie where he is an angry lonely badass who reluctantly kicks some ass. It's completely unrealistic (I wasn't really expecting it to be realistic) but what annoys me is that the movie isn't very fun either. The bad guys are stereotypical cliche Russians, but they're hilariously not scary and so incompetent that I honestly wanted them to be successful in something so I could care about the plot more. Basically, this movie gets you to watch because it implies the victim is being SA'd (which is dark and serious) but it takes itself so unseriously that it feels like a comedy. They talk about emojis, and the grandpa does yoga in tight yoga pants, and at one point Statham hides behind a tree (believing he is perfectly camouflaged as he sits in his massive Dodge Ram pickup truck). You can't make this stuff up. Who wrote this."
"A Working Man, the newest Jason Statham movie, is aiming for something along the lines of John Wick meets Taken, but never quite hits the mark. It was good to see Jason Statham beat people up. I thought the guy with the big gun and the long, shiny coat would have had more of a chance. Finally, it was good to see Michael Peña and David Harbour too."
