"What this movie lacks in story and romantic chemistry, it makes up for with fast paced fight choreography. Ke Huy Quan is an unlikely badass, he looks like he would lose a fight with a teddy bear. So the viewers have to suspend disbelief in that respect. But there's plenty of plot holes and nonsensical story points that need to be ignored in order to enjoy this flick. So turn your brain off and enjoy it for what it is. A silly and fun watch. 6.5/10"
"I had a lot of fun with this. It has its faults. I think the love interest was miscast. The director kept changing the amount of violence scene to scene, which is jarring. But this is way better than the tons of cheesy action movies I DNF in any given week. Love that Quan’s now getting some love. Great Sean Astin cameo. And Marshawn Lynch is kinda funny. "
"An action movie with a lot of fighting as a mild mannered schmuck reveals his steroidal past and mixes it up with a cast of baddies. Fighting prevails and the choreography is stunning- literally. Many interiors are trashed and the bad guys keep reviving after substantial lickings but obviously not actual killings. Relationships are revealed and one dominant female retains her mystique. A romp if your romp includes fists, knives, guns and lots of gore."
"I’m going to be up front and admit I’m biased. This movie was fun if you don’t take it seriously and just go along for the ride. Unfortunately, had the movie taken itself a little more seriously it probably would have been better received. There’s definitely worse movies out there. But also better ones. Either way I love Ke and will watch anything he’s in! "
"Alright enough Hollywood! Nothing creative or original or well acted these days "

A man with a criminal past is living a regular life when a turn of events drags him back into the underworld. That’s a plot that has been done a million times and there is nothing new here. This a generic version of john wick that tries to be funny with not-so-great results. The fight choreography is ok using the environment which reminded me of those classic Jackie Chan movies. They tried to add this love element that didn’t fit. They had zero chemistry and didn’t feel anything like they would date each other. It was a little too violent for the lighthearted tone of the rest of the movie. There really isn’t a whole lot to this one. Just another action clone that you can most likely skip.
