"It’s a fun little thriller movie involving vampires set in the time where the ku klux klan was still around. For horror fans it might be pretty tame, I consider it a fun short story almost. I love the Irish song they chose to use in there and giving tribute to blues music and it’s origins being from wonderful African American people."

"The Ryan Coogler/Michael B. Jordan connection is undefeated.
One of the best things about Sinners is that whether or not you feel every scene or moment works, you know each was well thought-out and carefully crafted with purposeful intention. The level of execution on display is impressive. This film has so many layers and is insightful while also being highly entertaining.
****SPOILERS BELOW****
That said, I didn't fully get Delta Slim's sacrifice to buy them time to escape at the end, only because these Vampires didn't seem to be blood-thirsty enough to gang up on a random person vs. going after their main targets. Plus, the Vampires had them so outnumbered, I'm not sure how anyone besides Smoke lasted more than a minute after Grace invited them in."

"The year is 1932 and twin brothers Smoke and Stake return to Mississippi to open a juke joint in an old sawmill. They enlist some local associates to assist with the set up including their cousin Sammie. He is the preacher's son but an aspiring blues musician. They get everything set up and open that night. Everything is fine when 3 people show up. They stated they heard the music and wanted to come in and play. Something is off about them, and they don't let them in. However they don't leave, and they find out they did have sinister motives. This has a run time of a shade under 2 hrs and 20 minutes. For about 90 minutes you will forget this is supposed to be a horror movie. They do such a great job of setting the scene and with the character development. You really know the people, their personalities and motivations. Music also plays a pretty big role and is incorporated perfectly. My only real critique is with the horror elements Everything looks great but it's not all that original and pretty straight forward. There is a mid-credit scene that wraps up the story nicely as well as an end credit. I think it's a must-see in theaters even if you don't like horror.
