"The Final Destination (2009) Review: A Forgettable Flop
Rewatching The Final Destination for Bloodlines prep crushed my nostalgia. I used to think I loved the whole franchise, but this fourth entry proves only the first two films were gems. Nick O’Bannon (Bobby Campo) survives a racetrack disaster via premonition, but Death’s pursuit of him and his friends lacks the spark of earlier installments. The characters are flat, with no depth or chemistry to make us care. The death scenes, once clever, rely on cheap CGI and 3D gimmicks that feel dated and uninspired. The script is clunky, with inconsistent rules and zero humor, while David R. Ellis’ direction lacks flair. My fondness for Final Destination clearly lies with the originals. Skip this one—it’s a lifeless detour."

"Definitely the worst one out of the first four. But it was still more than okay. "

"Ehhhh, it was way too fast-paced. As my friend expertly put it, it felt more like a compilation of videos than an actual movie. It makes sense since this is the shortest one of the bunch, but still. It's easily the worst. Movie wise, please do not start arguing with me about the deaths.
I do like the idea of the mall getting saved by him and him having that hero status even for a little while. He just did it very well even if I did not want to watch him do it.
This one is way more into the visual side of everything. That's what I meant before. They focus more on making the most iconic and impactful death scenes than they do on making a final destination movie. You could tell they tried but it had no motivation or progression outside the deaths. They really tried to push forward that idea rather than anything else. They wanted creative ways to die and still be incredibly gruesome at the same time. It's not a good movie at all. "
