"I absolutely loved this movie, not only because even Cagney felt it was the highlight of his career, but because you can see how much he enjoys dancing. Cagney had a vaudeville career before starting in cinema. His style of dance is described as part Irish jig and tap. It makes for a unique and eye-catching display. He always felt that dancing was what he did best. Cagney loved playing the role of George M. Cohan, a U. S. Patriot, is seen telling the story of his life to U. S. President, Franklin D. Roosevelt. We as the viewer watch Cohan's rise from a small act, to a well respected and talented Broadway performer. "
