"Most of the film was fine, a few problems but not awful. but at some point it derails, just goes in too many directions and doesn't follow any of them. very deeply unsatisfying ending. i can appreciate an ambiguous ending but this was NOT it. it was fine until it wasn't. ############spoilers below for a list of loose ends########################################### the presence of the "creature", dvorak's paranoia (the computer), bug's son (was he dead? actually a part of the experiment? perfectly fine? sick and dying?) the lost bear, the maze, emily's involvement as a plant (meds? instigation? inside man?) the lost connection with mission control, the reporters, the "food", the cannibalism?? the sketchy behavior of the townspeople, the disappearance of dvorak and bug, the history of the creature-man, why and how creature was in the ship, the filming by dvorak. the security cameras kept tracking, even after control was lost.### was it real? a simulation? was she a plant the whole time for more than the breakup? what was up with her meds? and dvoraks needle phobia? were they pushing dvorak into breakdown? why was dvorak the way he was? did dvorak and bug die? get killed? get eaten? was this a really effed up experiment (like major screwed up, worse than the stanford prison experiment)?
