"I never hear this one get talked about and that’s a darn shame, Jimmy Stewart is amazing (as always) and while there is some iffy stuff in it, it’s still pretty progressive for something made in the 50s. I wasn’t big on the romance at first but I found it interesting how they commented (if heavy-handedly) on the way people look at mixed race couples, which I’m sure was especially relevant back then"
