Grip of the Strangler

Boris Karloff stars as James Rankin, a novelist who is allowed a private investigation to prove that a recently hanged man was innocent of the murders he was convicted of. examine the case evidence. As Rankin pours over the evidence, makes inquiries, and conducts interviews regarding the case, he becomes more convinced of the man's innocence, but also that something truly terrible is actually responsible for the killings. Jean Kent and Anthony Dawson also star as his daughter and assistant. As expected, some scenes are overacted and somewhat comical, but overall, this is a good movie of this genre. "
