Brian GeierThe Star Wars show put Disney Plus on the map. Overall, the consensus is that the first 2 seasons are amazing and the 3rd season fell off. For me, while I do in general agree with that statement, I do feel that the degree to which the show declined is a major exaggeration, which is what many Star Wars fans tend to do. The first season had such a great air of mystery to it. It was new while still feeling like Star Wars. The second season added some legacy characters that eventually spun off into their own shows, but I never felt like Mando was overshadowed. The 3rd season focused on the reclaiming of Mandalore, which I thought was a fitting conclusion to the show and I can't wait to see how the Mandalorian and Grogu movie wraps the entire series of shows up. Overall, highly recommended for any Star Wars fans.

Brian GeierI know that this trilogy is not the most well-received in the canon, but I still found it plenty enjoyable. Lots of familiar and new characters with lots of moving parts, which makes the scale feel much larger. Looking forward to the rest of the trilogy.

Brian GeierOne of my favorite standalone novels in the new Disney canon. A tragic story of an estranged Jedi thrown into adversity too soon who turns to the dark side as a result. The main character is so multi-layered and the entirety of her story leaves you reflecting on the nature of how deeply personal each Jedi's journey is.

Brian GeierA fitting conclusion to one of my now favorite trilogies of the Disney era. Thrawn is such a deep character and seeing him balancing life with both the Empire and the Chiss was a fantastic journey.

Brian GeierA Quiet and edgy healer gets lots of cute girls simping over him while he just sticks to his guns as an overpowered healer. This high fantasy anime doesn't do anything new with the genre and other shows do the tropes better, but, overall, I would say this anime is perfectly fine. Not good, not bad, just ok.

Brian GeierA triumphant return in the first movie of the sequel trilogy. Yes, the story is very safe and doesn't stray far from the story of A New Hope, but to me, that is what makes it fun and a good introduction or reintroduction for fans both old and new.

Brian GeierA fun and adventurous school life anime where all the students have the blessings of different animal gods. The characters go through satisfying and the fight at the end was entertaining, if not a bit too brief. I'd definitely watch a second season.

Brian GeierAn intriguing thriller that feels very claustrophobic for the first three quarters of the movie with a truly horrifying reveal. The ending kept me second-guessing until the credits rolled. Given that I now know how it ends, a rewatch won't be something I will do anytime soon, but as a blind watch, it was enjoyable.
