Lawrence RobertsonAn excellent primer on how to approach writing comedy. Author Steven Kaplan makes an powerful argument that 'Funny' isn't about setups and punchlines, but about revealing the truth about human nature by breaking down the absurdities of life, and how we react to it.
Lawrence RobertsonIncredible Story. Fantastic Art. Suspenseful, and Very Humorous. I plan on giving another read soon.
Lawrence RobertsonI somehow missed this one until yesternight. And it was delightful surprise. Part Action/Thriller, part RomCom. This could have been a confused mess, but the tight script keeps everything moving at a brisk cohesive pace, and the performances from Cusack, Cusack, Driver, Piven, and Aykroyd, all handle the material with just enough charm, depth, and humor that had me enthralled through the entire runtime. Plus the soundtrack/score is done by the Clashe's Joe Strumer. So yeah.
Lawrence RobertsonOh Man. 😯 I was not prepared for how good this show is .I am 3 episodes in and can't wait to get to the next.
Lawrence RobertsonAlan Moore gives us an amazing tour of the Kaballahistic Tree of Life in an incredibly entertaining and moving manner. If you are someone who is interested in esoteric subjects such as the Tarot, this is a fascinating way to become acquainted with the principals and themes.
Lawrence RobertsonRevisited a couple of months ago after not watching for like 15 years. I am happy to report that it not only stands up, but is even better than I remember. The Direction is swift, suspenseful, and perfectly paced. Gunn blends a bucolic sensibility, with sudden acts of brutality, and excellently timed humor, to create a surprisingly 'down to earth ' cosmic horror flick.
Lawrence RobertsonAn absolute treat. The Story is multi-layered and engaging. The art is mind melting. Truly one of Alan Moores most overlooked pieces of graphic novel Vonderfullness.
Chelsea WrightDefinitely adding this to my reading list. Thank you!
