SofiaThis was such an interesting movie. It is in Shyamalan’s perfect form of deconstructing complicated themes through unbelievable stories that become believable, and, of course, a twist at the end. The characters are complex and interesting, the acting is impressive, the writing is entertaining and emotional: all around it’s got everything you could want in a movie.
SofiaA really really good movie. It was the perfect mix of dark humor, heartwarming moments, and incredible pieces of life advice. A movie that is truly about learning to love the art of living. The acting and the cinematography keep you captivated, even when the story is not at its most interesting. Truly worth the watch.
SofiaThis movie was less gory than X and had a little more of a plot. But it also felt more boring and less like a horror movie. It was definitely weird and had very similar vibes to X, obviously, but man did it get drawn out for a long time. The writing was pretty good though, and I liked the psychological aspects of it.
SofiaThis is really one of the most heartwarming movies I’ve ever watched and it really just gets what it’s like to be a kid, but not feel like one. It also captures the queer experience so well and I really could not stop tearing up. There is no unnecessary drama or just stirring the pot for entertainment. It is deep, but also lighthearted, and it never fails to make me smile. I love this movie so much.
SofiaI actually liked this movie a lot more than I thought I would. I was looking for something to turn off my brain, and although this was far from thought-provoking, it did have a little more depth than I thought it would. It was actually incredibly sweet and I really liked a lot of the characters. Brought up interesting points about how lying and telling the truth can affect people and life in general. It was pretty interesting. Overall, a pretty average movie that I did enjoy.
SofiaDefinitely a well-made horror movie, but it was a little gross for me. The amount of gore and nudity felt slightly unnecessary and a lot of this movie was just straight-up weird and gross. The last line of the movie is “some sort of effed up horror film,” and I couldn’t agree more. The creators clearly tried to make this as messed up as possible, and that just wasn’t completely my vibe. It was super gritty and grimy if that makes sense, and just hard to watch at some points. But if you are a fan of gory slasher films with relatively no plot, this one’s for you.
SofiaReally a good movie. The acting was like really good. It’s hard to believe that it wasn’t real. I also enjoyed that they didn't go completely over the top with some stupid plot. Like everything made perfect sense the way it happened and had a very eerie feel the whole time. I really feel like this situation could have happened to anyone, which is why it is so scary. I really did enjoy it.
SofiaThis was a really really good movie. The acting was one of the best I've ever seen. It goes through the hardships of mother-daughter relationships throughout generations. Some of it was a little hard to watch and my only complaint was that it was a little slow, but I do think that is the point. I know it's a book and I am sure it is really good as a book because some of the writing is truly amazing. This is really one of the best-made movies I have seen in a while.
