"The name made it seem like it was a remake of Malcolm in the middle. Watching it now I really like it, from the pov of being in the middle of parenting kids before they get older, enjoying motherhood. Very funny family, looked seeing the janitor from Scrubs in a major role. Kinda hated how the only single mothers were deemed trashy & villains, kids were unruly while the homemakers like the Donahue’s were perfect"
"Used to like this show, but after rewatching it, it hasn't aged very well at all. When Sue and Darren get more serious with each other it's pretty creepy, because she's like 17 at the time and he literally admits he's 20. LOTS of instances of characters calling Native Americans "Indians" still. Most of the male characters are misogynists, it's played off as humor but as a woman I don't find it funny at all. It makes me loose sympathy for the characters. Most of the actually decent jokes involve Brick and his likely undiagnosed autism. Brick is also just the best character in general."
