"The premise of this show was promising, a serial killer series that's "based on a true story." But it is very loosely based on true events. In fact everything besides Kieth Jesperson being the already convicted Happy Face Killer and his daughter, Melissa becoming known to the public, is a work of fiction that the writers took creative license. I wouldn't mind so much if they came up with something worthwhile. But the story is slow and boring. The only saving grace in this show is Dennis Quaid's performance as the Happy Face Killer. He plays it with such a creepy intensity that it demands attention when he's on the screen. Other than Quaid, the rest of it is crap. I only finished it because my wife wanted to see how it ended. 3/10"
"2.5 ⭐️ it was a DNF for me. I wished it delved deeper into the psychology of the characters. The show mainly focused on the investigation. Again I did not finish it so my review may be irrelevant but by the 4th episode I lost interest. Greatly missed opportunity to delve into generational trauma instead of focusing on high school drama.
