"Sometimes, it impresses me how Tyler Perry has become so successful time and time again with cheap laughs. And I mostly mean that in a good way.
By that same token, Miss Governor seemed like it had the right ingredients to fall within the same tier as Parks & Rec. But the first two episodes failed to hook me. The choice of picking particularly amateur-ish actors and a flat script screams: Yeah, this is a Tyler Perry creation (in a bad way). Mid-season scenes that I've seen in passing are funnier. But it all has to start at the beginning."
