Human or vampire, the rules of survival are the same: never trust, never yield, and always - always - guard your heart. The adopted human daughter of the Nightborn vampire king, Oraya carved her place in a world designed to kill her. To survive, Oraya is forced to make an alliance with a mysterious rival.Everything about Raihn is dangerous. He is a ruthless vampire, an efficient killer, an enemy to her father's crown... and her greatest competition. Yet, what terrifies Oraya most of all is that she finds herself oddly drawn to him.But there's no room for compassion in the Kejari. War for the House of Night brews, shattering everything that Oraya thought she knew about her home. And Raihn may understand her more than anyone - but their blossoming attraction could be her downfall, in a kingdom where nothing is more deadly than love. The Serpent and the Wings of Night is the first book in a new series of heart-wrenching romance, dark magic, and bloodthirsty intrigue, perfect for fans of From Blood and Ash and A Court of Thorns and Roses.

"If you are looking for Hunger Games, but with vampires; here's your book. But seriously, this story was so good, if you can imagine the Hunger Games being more emotional yet somehow less disturbing, this is it. Be warned though, you will be exploring several different forms of abuse and the realization of that abuse as told by the narrator. The enemies to lovers/forced proximity *chef's kiss and oh the banter! 8/10."
"Apparently I’m in my Romantasy era, so this book is 100% my jam. I just love the enemies to lovers sexual tension, the exciting action of the trials, the world building, and the twists!! I was so invested in this world and in the two main characters: Oraya, a strong FMC and Raihn, a new MMC to swoon over. If a vampires meets Hunger Games world is your vibe…I would definitely recommend! I will absolutely be returning for rereads. "
"3.5 that I’m rounding up to 4 here. Beginning is an investment, so painfully slow. Picks up last third (for me) then huge twists at the end which really saved it! Will read the next one to see what happens. "

"A epic fantasy romance, Hunger Games meets vampires! I loved every single part of this book. From the plot, to the characters, the dialogue between the characters, the SLOW burn. EVERYTHING! It’s just sooo good. You’ll stay interesting throughout the book, and it will leave you wanting more and asking questions. It’s a five star read for me and I definitely recommend it. I will definitely be reading book two."
"4.75 stars! The perfect thing to read after ACOTAR! This was action packed and had the best slow burn, not even a hint of romance until after 250 pages, but worth it. Once I got half way, I could not put it down and read in one sitting. The ending was insane! I have so many feelings, anger, crying, sad, confused, etc. Can’t wait for the next book! My new fav romantasy. "
"So boring, slow paced and a lot of unnecessary parts of this book. I ended up skimming so much because it wasn’t moving and Oraya was so dull. There’s not much character growth and it truly affected the story. Lots of world building that didn’t really add to the story either. This felt like a twilight and the hunger games had a baby and this is it. "
