"This was a lot. I mean that in every possible way.
Twice I've attempted to watch this show and not been able to finish the first episode. Then I got a minute into the second. It's ridiculous how it somehow loses the viewer despite having every possible thing to let them get hooked. Countless magic, characters you know and love from other shows, action galore, beautiful visuals, and an intriguing idea. However, that first episode is certainly something to trudge through. Especially when one scene you would've just watched after finishing EBelow. Maybe it is just straight an information dump that your brain can't really comprehend what it needs to. It's a spectacle to view but can be too much. It needed to happen in that way, but I can't ignore the fact that after first viewing I couldn't keep at it. Then when I was committed to finally finishing the entire series I stopped.
But, I did finish it. Man does it get even more complex. It also becomes just a tad predictable in many aspects but I enjoy watching the beginning of the shows we know come to past. Try considering this like a long movie sequel to Trollhunters. You don't really need to know EBelow until the final 3 episodes of this show. And even then, you can infer most of what you need to know. Basically, EBelow is about an alien prince and princess coming to Earth from a very technologically advanced planet. There, now you're good and you don't need to watch EBelow to enjoy this show.
Overall, I am glad I watched it. I grew to like the characters. I already loved the concept behind it, and they played it well. Seeing the history of Trollhunters occur, & the origin of characters was also very satisfying. Yet it can be a lot & I can't promise you'll enjoy it. This show is a deep continuation of the series Trollhunters. That's what it has going for it. Expanding this world into the complex universe it has made, is what makes this show stand out. Sadly you may drown in how deep it gets. "
"Well I love the whole franchise of this! I've also liked the 100, Never Have I Ever, Star Trek the Next Generation, and Bull. "
