Instant #1 New York Times bestseller and a Good Morning America Book Club Pick! This witty, slow-burn rom-com is the "ideal beach read." --Elle Justin has a curse, and thanks to a Reddit thread, it's now all over the internet. Every woman he dates goes on to find their soul mate the second they break up. When a woman slides into his DMs with the same problem, they come up with a plan: They'll date each other and break up. Their curses will cancel each other’s out, and they’ll both go on to find the love of their lives. It’s a bonkers idea… and it just might work. Emma hadn't planned that her next assignment as a traveling nurse would be in Minnesota, but she and her best friend agree that dating Justin is too good of an opportunity to pass up, especially when they get to rent an adorable cottage on a private island on Lake Minnetonka. It's supposed to be a quick fling, just for the summer. But when Emma's toxic mother shows up and Justin has to assume guardianship of his three siblings, they're suddenly navigating a lot more than they expected--including catching real feelings for each other. What if this time Fate has actually brought the perfect pair together?

"I didn’t read any of the books prior to this book, but the ending felt rushed. I liked the character development towards the end of the book, but the romance wasn’t as great as I thought it would be. "

"I understand why everyone loves this book, but something about the pacing in the beginning was not my favorite. I also feel like there were details missing in certain areas that I would’ve loved. Although, I enjoyed the bonus chapter about Maddy and Doug. I also really liked that how heavily connected this was to the other two books. "
"I loved this so much, I loved the leads relationship and whenever they talked it felt like I was watching a tennis match if that makes sense. Constant banter and it was so great. Honestly though the way it ended felt a little bittersweet and like a lot of people were still hurt or going to have trust issues later on but there was almost no other way if you know what I mean. 5/5 stars highly recommend"

Abby's books are so very relatable, and you can tell she does her research. Amber, our fmc, is a traveling nurse who has boundary issues, which means she has set up none for herself and constantly gets taken advantage of by her mom. Justin, the love interest, is an absolute golden retriever of a man. He has his own issues, but they combat them together quite beautifully. Unfortunately, I thought the romance was too insta love.
The plot includes emotional trauma, found family, and forced proximity. I really love how these three books are interwoven, and I was completely shellshocked at the clever twist. Just for the Summer is funny, heartfelt, and beautifully written. Emma, due to her trauma, was closed off, but it was magic how easily she slid into the caregiver role. Justin fist pumping when he thought no one was looking was probably Abby's greatest work to date. Well, besides Gerorge Cooney.
Justin's mom and aunt were hilarious drunks. Also, his mother was in a very interesting ordeal, and I thought the way it was handled made me introspective. Even though the feelings were insta love, the physical part was not. Justin drove Emma crazy which made it more fun. Matty was such a great friend, too. I don't like novellas, but hers will most likely be good.

"Lost a star because I wanted to shake Emma. I understand the reasoning behind her being so annoying the trauma and all but I’m like… love Justin or not love him just pick one. I also HATED this girls mom omg!! I never wanted to fight some fictional person like I did with her. "

"Unbelievable. Tugged at my heartstrings multiple times, I actually started to tear up. Ties in beautifully with the rest of the series, highly recommend reading POYW and Yours Truly first. I will say it’s got a few trigger warnings so that’s something to be weary of, but the way the author displayed the hardships was stunning. 10/10"
