The last Travis brother, Jack, is at center stage in this steamy, sexy novel from New York Times bestselling author Lisa Kleypas, Smooth Talking Stranger. Jack Travis leads the uncomplicated life of a millionaire Texas playboy. He makes no commitments, he loves many women, he lives for pleasure. But no one has ever truly touched his heart or soul. Until one day, a woman appears on his doorstep with fury on her face and a baby in her arms. It seems Jack is the father and this woman is the baby's aunt. The real mother has abandoned the child to her more responsible sister. And now, Jack is being called upon to take responsibility for the first time in his life. With delicious romantic tension, characters so real they walk onto the page and into your heart, Lisa Kleypas delivers the kind of novel that makes you laugh, love; cry and cheer.

"Jack is my favorite of the Travis siblings and this was my favorite book.

This book wrecked me. Cover-to-effing cover. The premise of the book is unlike any other that I've read: The baby sister, wracked with PPD, dumps her newborn off with her mother (who, I'm pretty sure has NPD, which is common in these books) and the mother says to the elder sister, "I don't want it. If you want it, come get it, or I'll do something with it." The elder sister, who is caretaker by nature, takes the baby, with zero experience and tries to track down the father. She ends up at the office of Jack Travis and the story kicks off.

This is a "love-at-first-sight" trope and it's obvious, early on. Jack is pretty persistent with regards to his feelings for Ella and wears her down at every turn. He is AMAZING in his tactics, though. Never, at any time, did I get psycho-vibes from him and I LOVED all of the things he did to win her heart.

Had to stick this one on the "Ride-or-Die" shelf because it's taking all I have not to turn around and re-read it. I will, soon, though, because it's that flippin' good!"
