"TW: Domestic Abuse
Marital Rape
Narcissism

Hardy's redemption book. Given how he treated Liberty in the previous book, this is his "redemption" story. It was HARD to read the beginning of the book with Haven's marital relationship with Nick. Nick is a quintessential narcissist - you can never please him and it's always your fault. The scene when Haven finally leaves him was a HARD chapter to read because of how bruised and broken she was, physically and emotionally, at that point.

The best character in the book was Jack. I said what I said. Can't WAIT for him in the next book! He is such as smart-ass (I LOVE me a smart ass :)) but he's loyal and good and wholesome. He's definitely a snake charmer when it comes to the ladies and uses his last name to his definitive advantage.

There are some really great scenes in the book, after the whole domestic abuse scenario: The scene in the elevator with Hardy & Haven (CLASSIC white-knight complex, which I figured out is in a LOT of MMCs I happen to love), how slow and gentle Hardy was with Haven, the scene where Haven asks for a job (had me CRACKING up on that one), a glimpse into "home life" with Liberty & Gage (*swoon*) and the 3rd act conflict where Hardy saves the day (and Nick gets the tar beaten out of him).

It's not my favorite of the series, but I did like it! Hardy was just hard to love because he's built up so much in the first book (and part of the second) as a "love 'em and leave 'em" kinda guy that it was such a 90 degree turn for him to go into Mr. Monogamy in this book."
"Hardy, who shows up in the first book, returns. Honestly, with the first book, I was almost upset Hardy didn't end up being the love interest. But this book gives him a fitting end. I can appreciate that Lisa Kleypas sets up the story and gives the characters realistic instincts and timeline to discover one another. Another great book in this series."
"This was a pretty good book. I just didn't care for the last few chapters of the book. I'm just not into reading about somebody elses sex life. I know it's fictional but it's just not for me. Other than that, I thought it was a great book. Better than I thought it would be."
