"I liked this book better than the last 2 but not as well as the first two. For me, the train ride to the Capital, training and games were the strength. Flat parts were the backstories, love interest and especially the story following the games."

"The long awaited back story for Haymitch was well worth the wait!!!! This novel wasn't what I was expecting it to be like at all, in the best ways at that!!! The writing was different than Suzanne Collins's previous novels in the Hunger Games series. It was for sure a different vibe. I loved the audiobook version for this book! I felt like it brought the pages to life and gave the words on the page a more impactful punch! All in all, this novel captured my heart and helped put more context and soul into a already powerful and memorable series overall!!! I truly enjoyed this novel!!!"
"I knew I wouldn’t get through this book with crying but omg I SOBBED multiple times. Haymitch always has been one of my favorite characters but this just solidified it even more. He deserved the world. Some of the deaths in this book were more brutal than I could’ve ever imagined. Suzanne took it to the next level. Idk how they’re gonna make the movie PG-13 without changing some of the deaths."
"Wow, I’m a bit delirious because it’s currently 2:30 am, I’ve been reading for 5 hours straight and sobbing non-stop. This book was amazing. Everything Suzanna writes is incredible and heart wrenching. It was nice seeing all the characters and all the hidden snipets from the other books. It was also nice to see into Haymitch. I have always wondered about his game and his character, I just didn’t think it would leave me this broken hearted. "
