"I thoroughly enjoyed “The Queen” because I got to see a unique behind-the-scenes perspective on Lady Amberley and Prince Clarkson. The character development is compelling and I loved seeing the prongs of the royals couple relationship. From seeing how this story went, I am now looking forward to reading the rest of the series, to see what they unfold!"

"I read the series first and then started reading the novellas, so just a warning, there are some spoilers from the main series. I was hoping that once I read this I would understand Maxon's parents more and begin to like them. It only destroyed my perception of Queen Amberly and made me despise the King even more than when I started. She is naive and too submissive and Clarkson was looking for just that.<br/><br/> "I liked your hair...There was nothing wrong with it when it was long. I asked several girls to cut their hair, and you were the only one who game me more than an inch."<br/><br/> He never cared that she couldn't have children, so it wouldn't surprise me if he planned on being unfaithful from the start, and he knew that she would have no problem with that. Whenever he beat his son I'm assuming she thought it was just how he showed his son that he loved him. But he is nothing more than a control freak in my eyes. I do understand now why King Clarkson was as harsh as he was - he was raised by two tyrants! If you thought he was bad then, you should see his mother!"
