A Courtship of ConvenienceSophie Appersett is quite willing to marry outside of her class to ensure the survival of her family. But the darkly handsome Mr. Edward Sharpe is no run-of-the-mill London merchant. He's grim and silent. A man of little emotion--or perhaps no emotion at all. After two months of courtship, she's ready to put an end to things.A Last Chance for LoveBut severing ties with her taciturn suitor isn't as straightforward as Sophie envisioned. Her parents are outraged. And then there's Charles Darwin, Prince Albert, and that dratted gaslight. What's a girl to do except invite Mr. Sharpe to Appersett House for Christmas and give him one last chance to win her? Only this time there'll be no false formality. This time they'll get to know each other for who they really are.

"A very quick read. It was ok. The continued references to Darwin were a bit much for me and after the third conversation and started skimming those passages.

I did like the growing romance between the main characters but I wish there was more interaction between them.

So it was a good story but not great. But I would try something else by her."
"4.25 ⭐️’s

I lovedddd this so much! There are a few curiosities I have about the ending and what happens thereafter, but I adored these characters. It’s giving holiday Bridgerton without spice. The tension is there, the love is there, the need to marry into a specific family/social class is there. It was all just amazing and cozy."

"4/5 ⭐️ Um this was such an adorable little Christmas story? I tend to not be a novella person, but I was truly sucked into the relationship journey this short book took me on. It wasn’t perfect - the leads were a bit much at times, but I liked the growth that we saw in their romance even in a short period of time. The larger cast of characters and story was also kind of intriguing too. This just gave me all the historical Christmas vibes I was looking for!"
