"I HATED this book!!! Never did I ever get THIS annoyed by a book (perhaps, "The Duke and I" can relate.)

There is so many wrong things in this book, the writing style was okay but boy did this book k-word me! I am down for any book but this was just NOT IT!

1. This promotes cheating! Charlie literally engages in a relationship with her best friend's brother which would have been okay but he is married!?? IT IS NOT OKAY! GIRL COME ON YOU ARE BLOODY 18 FREAKING YEARS OLD AND YOU DEFINITELY KNOW THAT YOU ARE THE SIDE GIRL SO DON'T CHEAT! I mean if they're in love, then at least be honest about your love and open up the facts with people instead of continuing the **** game. See if Lex and Samantha were in an unhappy marriage, then they should have at least been honest with each other as to they are cheating with each other by indulging in extramarital affairs. Like duh, what's the point of even staying in that relationship if you are getting nothing out of it; to a point where they can't even tell each other that they both don't love each other anymore? That is not an excuse for Lex to cheat on his wife with his sister's best friend and its not an excuse for Charlie either for messing around with a married man (EVEN IF THEY LOVE EACH OTHER!)

2. This is like a sub-point of the previous point. If they are really not in love and are physically involved with other people, they why did Samantha lie about the baby being Lex's when she ended up with the baby's dad anyway? Like there's nothing she gets out of it apart from hate and unhappiness. Honestly, that was the worst possible move ever because she could have easily just been honest and directly started a new life with whoever the baby's dad is! What is the point-like seriously was it just to add to the plot? To me, it's more like a plot hole.

3. The fact that in spite of being in love, Lex does NOT respect his girl's privacy and will. Even when he got to know that she is engaged to Julian, he could have at least not forced her or aroused her by playing with her feelings! Bro, I understand if you are heartbroken and possessive about her but that does not give you any right to sexually break her boundaries knowing that she will ultimately be mad at you. YOU WERE THE ONE WHO BROKE HER THE FIRST TIME SO BACK OFF IF SHE DOES NOT TRUST YOU IN THE FIRST GO!

4. Charlie is so indecisive! She plays around all the time like she knows that she is engaged but if she is having feelings for Lex, then she could have opened up about it with Julian so that he doesn't get broken just like how she was 9 years ago. If she has experienced that trauma so much so that she was admitted to the psych ward, then why the hell does she do the same to Julian?? I know that it was for the plot but there are so many ways this story could be re-written without all the cheating that happened. She literally sleeps with both the guys, kisses both of them, and says "I want you" to both all while being engaged to one. If she needs time to decide, she could have taken it without cheating or indulging sexually with the other one and then lied about it when asked. She also does the same mistake when she was 18 and she plays around with her best friend's brother! She could have been with him if he was single and if everyone was in the know about the relationship including the families of the involved parties!

5. This sets the wrong examples for teenagers and other people! Cheating is NOT acceptable in any given scenario even if the couple is not in love anymore. If they had JUST been honest and kept one another informed about their what they feel, it would have been so simple alright, but going behind each other's back is so dumb!

<spoiler>In short, Charlie sleeps with her best friend's brother Lex who is married to Samantha at the time. Lex says he isn't in love with Samantha anymore and their relationship is stained due to which Charlie doesn't feel bad for sleeping with him but then Samantha tells him that she is pregnant with his child and then he chooses her over Charlie. This leaves Charlie heartbroken and she loses her best friend Adriana for causing the issues with Lex and his family. Charlie then goes into trauma and psych ward for losing love and friendship but then 9 years later she falls in love with Julian and is engaged to him but ends up seeing Lex at a restaurant who is apparently now a billionaire now. Lex is shocked to see Charlie and tells her that he has been looking for her all this time but gave up when he couldn't find her. Charlie tells him that she is engaged to Julian and it's too late for them to be a thing now but Lex forces her and keeps interrupting in her life just to get her. In order to do so, he forcefully arouses Charlie and then gives her an ultimatum to either choose him or Julian. Unable to make the choice, Charlie tells him she needs time but in the course of that, she sleeps with both the guys at different times and lies to both of them by telling them that she loves them. In the end, she tells Julian she is going on a trip with her reunited best friend Adriana for her bachelorette party but then when she realizes Lex is also coming, she gets physically involved with him for one last time before getting an impromptu wedding with Lex (Note that she is still ENGAGED to Julian when she marries Lex.) </spoiler>

So overall, this was a pain in the brain for me! I don't think I will ever pick up the other books in this series
Ps. Read this for my book club (Book of the month for June) :("
