"The incredible fragility , vulnerability and horror that is thirteen. Not yet an adult and needing to reject childhood. Trying to grasp adult vices, clutching, clinging. Oh the pain! A rich portrayal of this stupid hateful risky stage. Being a parent is harder than almost anything and sucks the ego out of you. Beautiful in its horror."
"Finally got a chance to watch this iconic film. Watching Evan Rachel Wood play one of the worse thirteen year old girl I’ve ever seen. It’s also sad to watch this young girl deal with so many different issues and trauma. Everybody has seen that one nice girl who ends up being influenced by the wild girl growing up. It’s kind of crazy Nikki Reed actually co-wrote the screen play at 13 then played Evie at 14. Definitely brought me back to the early 2000’s because I was basically around the same age when this came out. Very raw emotional film to watch at least once."
