"I don't know why people are hating on this movie, I loved it. It's a delightfully twisted film that you are better off going in blind if possible. I'll try not to say too much so as not to give anything away. For me, John Malkovich steals just about every scene he's in. He just commands attention when he's on the screen. All the other actors do fine jobs as well but are overshadowed by Malkovich. The creepy vibes are apparent early on, then tension steadily builds until it becomes menacing. Good pacing and not overly long. 8.5/10"
"I enjoyed this movie. It was odd but not so odd that it went off the rails. A varied cast that worked with a wild and just plain crazy plot. Malkovich is always masterful but newbie Ayo Edibri really brought out her acting chops as well and always great to see the great Juliette Lewis."
"Don’t understand all the hate this movie is getting . I understand it’s very weird but it adds to that uncomfortable and uneasy feeling that they I am sure were going for to sell the narrative . It’s not the best like others it’s being compared to but , for me , it delivered what a movie like it is supposed to deliver . "
"very neuvo inclusive film with Nigerian actress Ayo Edibiri & a cult like atmosphere reminiscent of Tyler Perrys Ft. McPherson compound. Veteran actors John Malkovick & Julitte Lewis star. ((SPOILERS)). 1 thing that struck me was Malkovicks retelling (to Ayo personally) of Julius Ceasars kidnapping when he was in his 20s by FEMALE pirates. They were the original pirates (i still believe Johny Depp was portraying a female). Ceasar had them all crucified & women used to be crucified upside down on a X shaped cross for ritualistic reasons. They were to chicken to go into this much detail, lol so im doing it. The kills were graphic & shocking, they did Juliette Lewis wrong, i love her, lol. Anyway i wont tell to much. It was a great movie with excellent actors. 4/5

"This movie doesn't have "Magnum Opus" energy, but it's still a decent film nonetheless. Ayo Edibiri and John Malkovich's performances are the best parts of this movie. The cinematography was also pretty clean and I'm a sucker for unnecessary gore. Thr film started off very interesting but it fell off by the middle of the 2nd act. As I kept watching, it felt like I was watching something I've seen a few times before. Opus is a solid film with great performances but bogged down by its flawed writing. "
