"I don’t know how, but this teen sex comedy pulls off the ludicrously wholesomeness vibe despite being about strippers and the aforementioned sexual position. It’s pause it several times for fits of laughter funny. Fun cast with an 80’s soundtrack reminiscent of its acknowledged rip off of Risky Business. Can’t wait to see what’s next from long time comedic actress, first time director, Jillian Bell. Loved it. "
"sometimes you put your trust in a random hulu original and sometimes it pays off. a perfect example of my favorite rare subset of teen movies that embrace the inherent cringe of the genre in an earnest and hilarious way. reminded me of my favorite aubrey plaza movies, “my old ass” and “the to do list.” highlighted female sexuality while showcasing a beautiful mentor type relationship between two strong women who equally needed each other. the trouble of being young and deciphering what you want, which is sometimes just someone to braid your hair. a real, authentic portrayal of womanhood in different forms that is also wacky and made me laugh out loud. it helps that i’m also in love w matt cornett. JILLIAN BELL KEEP MAKING THESE PLEASE!!!"
"(2025) This is a raunchy coming of age trainwreck that's more provocative than laugh out loud funny. Chloe Fineman's Santa Monica is a highlight, bringing some much needed attitude to the mess. Sam Morelos's Abby is relatable, but the script often feels like it's trying too hard to be cool. The film's tone is all over the place, veering wildly from cringe worthy to surprisingly sweet. Maybe the younger crowd will eat it up, but for me, it felt like a misfire. Still, it's undeniably authentic in its own messy way. 6/10"
"Weird, but I liked it. Premise of teen hires stripper to teach her about confidence had me interested so I gave it a shot. Typical high school movie. "
