"Another episode of Netflix's Trainwreck series. This one looks at the horrible tragedies suffered at the Travis Scott Astroworld festival in 2021. It really is a shame and the promoters should have been held accountable. That being said, everyone loves to point fingers after the fact, but the promoters really couldn't predict how the concertgoers were going to act. As the saying goes, "hindsight is 20/20". It's easy to say, "they should have done this, and they should have done that." But hopefully the promoters can learn from this tragedy and hopefully prevent anything like this from happening again. An interesting documentary despite the loss of lives. 8/10"
"Just a disgustingly blatant disregard for human life and grossly negligent conduct on behalf of Travis Scott, Live Nation and anyone involved in the organization of AstroWorld. As someone from Texas who knew people who went to this festival and remember all of this vividly, the fact that they weren’t held responsible sickens me. My heart goes out to all of the victims."
"Eye-opening, first-hand accounts to the chaos and tragedy that set the stage for fans to have lost their lives and others suffered injury. As someone who has attended a lot of music festivals, it's heart crushing to watch. 💔 May the losses suffered serve a higher purpose: to never allow this to occur again, anywhere, ever."
"I was deeply struck by this documentary. It brought back a tragedy I barely remember from the news in 2021. It chronicles the Astroworld Festival where, during Travis Scott’s headline set, a massive crowd surge led to the deaths of ten people including children and left hundreds more injured. The film uses harrowing phone footage, survivor and medic testimonies, and expert commentary to show how failures in planning and crowd control turned a music festival into a nightmare.
What really shook me was how the concert continued despite visible distress and warnings from within the crowd. It made the whole event feel preventable. The emotional toll on the victims’ families is fully portrayed and shows how they are still grappling with their loss.
As a parent, watching families relive their heartbreak hit hard. It’s a sobering reminder of how quickly things can go wrong when celebrity culture and profit are prioritized over human safety. The documentary is intense, unsettling, and a powerful critique of the lack of accountability in large-scale live events.
