"Comparing this movie to the book 📖 is relatively easy. The movie only contained half of the content in the book. This movie, starring Russell Crowe as Robin Longstride, who assumes the identity of a fallen knight of the crusades, Robin of Locksley, during a tense ongoing war with the French army, is the backdrop. Robin brings news of the fallen king, and Prince John assumes the throne. Later, he meets Marian, Locksley's widow, played by Cate Blanchett. That is where the story actually begins. Since so much is left out of the book adaptation, the move basically focuses on Robin's mates from the war, who return with him, and Robin's relationship with Marian. The movie ends on a cliffhanger, because there was meant to be a sequel, which never happened, because most audiences couldn't understand that the movie was only a setup of the character, and wasn't going to feature Sherwood Forrest or the Merry Men. If you read the book, I believe it will be much more satisfying as a whole plot. "
"Plenty of action and some gore scenes, but they were watchable. There was romance, but I didn’t feel like there was chemistry between the actors so just a good action movie in my opinion. "

"Love this version. Russell Crow us a great actor and he does not disappoint in this movie. It’s really good and fun has some action. Really worth watching. I also love Matthew McFadyen. He does not get the credit he deserves as an actor. He has a small part but he’s really good. I think that says a lot about him. Watch this!! It’s good! "
