"6.5/10. Good B-movie. Reminds me of the type of film that would be 3rd of a triple feature at a drive-in decades ago. Revolutionary in terms of mass destruction of zombie hordes. However, poor acting, low budget, bad script, childish make-up, and boring location of a mall. Despite these facts, people have attributed it to cult status, so it regularly receives "best zombie movie ever" title on groupthink Internet lists."
"I wish they still made movies like this. It doesn't feel like the actors know they're in a movie, like so many films feel now. It feels like we're watching an organic story with real people. Also, I appreciate George A. Romero's writing of women in these movies. Even if Barbara drove me a little crazy, the rest of his female protagonists are badasses, but not in a cheap Hollywood way. Like in a Sigourney Weaver in Alien way. I love it. And when characters are horribly racist or misogynistic, SPOILER it doesn't usually end well for them. And that pleases me. "
"Words cannot explain my love for this movie. As a horror and zombie movie fan this has got to be my favorite of all. Even with the dark theme of a zombie apocalypse it still manages to be fun and light hearted at times. Not to mention that the soundtrack is spectacular! Everyone should give this movie a try if you haven’t already."
