"Bring Her Back is unsettling and dreadful. I am very traumatized. It might sound weird, but I say that in a good and complimentary way about the cast and the production. I recommend going into this blind, but fair warning there's an upsetting eating scene that definitely unlocked a new nightmare."
"Mixed feelings about this one but I was mostly disappointed. Not a bad movie by any means but I was expecting more. I wasn't prepared for the slow burn nature after that initial opening where there is some disturbing imagery dealing with some sort of cult. Then it turns into a drama/thriller with a few horror elements thrown in. Nothing much really happens for that first hour. For me the payoff wasn't big enough to be that slow with an almost 2 hour run time. I either needed more scares or more of an explanation about what was going on. You never really get any of those basic questions answered. Which would have been fine with a more explosive ending. This comes from the same brothers that made Talk to Me, which I was also disappointed with after so much hype. If you loved Talk to me than you will like this one more than I did. Worth a watch but didn't have the scares I was hoping for. Please check out my podcast Mostly Low Budget Movie Reviews with Clarence for a more detailed breakdown. "wow! what a surprise for mystery movie mondays at regal.
grapefruit, i actually went to MMM because i heard this was the movie. really liked talk to me and this movie is built with similar building blocks. a simple premise that is ripe for unnerving setups and visceral gore.
our theater would have been perfect for those trailers that show audience reactions because damn. there was a whole sequence where my wife just stared at me reacting to what was happening because she couldn’t look for herself. and my face must have been very expressive because she got the idea.
anyway, i sure am glad these brothers can step away from horror and do some gnarly action with street fighter.
(liked that cheeky talk to me reference)"
"Best horror movie I’ve ever seen in my life. The gore, sound design, and theme of desperation that filled nearly every soul in this movie made this experience memorable. I quite literally teared up out of fear. That’s not saying much because I’m jumpy, but it definitely left an impact on me. 10/10"
"Bad writing. Extremely creepy, though. 🫣"

"Another a24 hit. This movie hit a part of my empathetic side. If I were in their shoes, what would I do. Viewing it from that perspective makes it rewatchable. Give it a shot! Idk why I want to include this, but it almost reminds me of the days I got hooked on lifetime movies. Let me know if that makes sense lol."
