"This is a fun popcorn flick. John Cena and Idris Elba star as the U.S. President and the British Prime Minister in this action comedy. The movie doesn't take itself too seriously, so once you accept the unrealistic premise, it's a fun ride. Tons of great action sequences with some unexpected production value. Co-starring Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Paddy Considine, Carla Gugino, and Jack Quaid. No acting awards to be handed out on this one but plenty of entertainment to be had. 7.5/10"
"This was awesome. Fantastic action comedy and all around good time. Directed by the same guy who did Nobody, so it’s to be expected. Ildris Elba, John Cena, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Carla Gugino, Jack Quaid, all terrific. I don’t want to think about the plot and possible symbolism too much, but like the wacky G20, just have fun with it. I’d kill to see the credits scene spinoff. "
"Hilarious and full of action! Great actors!"

"Idris and John have pretty good comedic chemistry together. Although Cena pretty much plays the same character type in every movie, he is still funny, likable and entertaining next to Idris who is a very versatile skilled actor. You do get a lot of fist fights, explosions and shootouts. It never gets too heavy with the PG-13 level action. It is very formulaic and doesn't cover any new ground. Some of the bits/comedy feels dated and doesn't land. This is pretty much a buddy action comedy, and it mostly works. Not something you need to rush and see but throw it in your Q and watch it one night when there is nothing else on and you just want something you can halfway pay attention to while doing other things...and not feel the need to rewind.
