"This film is an intense sci-fi drama about people being trapped in one location. A married couple with relationship problems has a fight at the beginning of the movie that sets up the tense nature of everything that they will experience. Tim is played by Matthias Schweighöfer, and Olivia played by Ruby Fee. The couple wakes up in the middle of the night to realize that the apartment they live in is surrounded by an impenetrable layer of metal, which no waves can get through. They need to find a way to communicate with others in their apartment building and try to survive. German audio. "

Interesting mystery as to how and why a strange wall has closed in an entire apartment building. It says it has gore, but it definitely wasn't a slasher, nor was it very "gory" at all.
I love a good mystery, and this one was unique. Kind of a locked room thing. There's not much else to say without giving too much away. It's best to just let it unfold naturally.
I must admit, I fell a bit more head-over-heels for Matthias Schweighöfer after this. I've only seen him in the role of Ludwig Dieter in Army of the Dead and its prequel, Army of Thieves. He was adorable and lovable, and I've always wanted to see him in a different role to get more out of his range. He did not disappoint! So handsome!
Anyway, I did enjoy this movie even though it was pretty far-fetched. It wasn't a waste of time, and I do recommend it to people who enjoy the things I mentioned above."
"This is a German mystery/sci-fi/thriller with a pretty interesting set up. A couple wake up in the middle of the night to find all the exits covered with some sort of barrier. Completely cut off from the outside world with limited resources and no cell service. The investigation piece started pretty interesting. Then they added some characters and things went downhill from there. It's hard to root for characters you don't like. I was also hoping for a more original or exotic reason as to why things were happening. However, I could give you 3 guesses, and you would probably get it right. Then the ending came like it was some big reveal and hinted at something on a larger scale, but it really didn't land. Oh, and don't watch the dubbed version. The dialogue is so bad it's distracting. Another one with a good idea but missed on the follow/execution. Please check out my podcast Mostly Low Budget Movie Reviews with Clarence for a full breakdown. On all streaming platforms.
