"Loosely based on the true story of Michael Larson, who went on the gameshow "Press Your Luck" in 1984 and won over $110,000 in cash and prizes. He memorized 5 different sequential patterns to beat the game and avoid the "whammies". That's about the end of the true story, everything else they added to the movie is made up. I understand the writers trying to build intrigue into the storyline, but what they did add didn't work. The ending was also very anticlimactic. If you would like to know the true story, watch Big Bucks: The Press Your Luck Scandal documentary, you can find it on YouTube. For this movie 6/10"
