"I finally watched this today. It's uneven and kind of meh. My favorite characters? Jonathan and the Dwarves. Gal Gadot as the Evil Queen...just no. Snow White grew on me. I loved all the animals. Well done cgi there. I am a lifelong fan of the original animated film, so this was interesting. I can't recommend this, but if you are curious, give it a go. "
"I initially had no desire to see this movie because of the "woke" controversy surrounding it. But I have to admit, I didn't hate it. At first I thought having Rachel Zegler play Snow White was a bad idea because of her Columbian descent and maybe they should have found an actress more suited to the description of having "skin as white as snow" like in the beloved original. But I think Zegler did a fine job. I also didn't mind the CGI version of the 7 dwarves, although it might have been nice to give some actual dwarf actors the roles, I still liked the quirky CGI dwarves along with all the adorable woodland creatures. I was also happy that they kept a couple of original songs like "Hi-Ho" and "Whistle While You Work" as they were the only songs that really stood out. I felt that Gal Gadot wasn't menacing enough as the Evil Queen. Overall, I don't really see what all the fuss was about, Disney created an updated version of a timeless classic for new generations to enjoy, alongside the original... Not to replace it. 8/10"
"This was WAY TOO overhated for how cute and genuinely good it was. Rachel was enchanting as Snow White (as expected) with her voice as sweet as a nightingale and her acting as charming as ever. Her chemistry with the actor who played Jonathan was especially a highlight and their romance was adorable. The songs were genuinely good and they got my feet tapping. The dwarves were great and the CGI wasn’t nearly as bad as preliminary photos and trailers made it out to be. Dopey was a favorite of mine (duh) and I thought the way he was depicted was so sweet. In fact, most of the cinematography was rather pretty. The main worry I had going in was with certain changes and hair and costuming choices but ALL were explained through the plot and by the end I had no complaints….. except one. Gal Gadot. Sometimes she was on the mark as the evil queen, mostly she was way off. She was very monotone and the film would have been better served if someone else had played her. That’s really the only reason I docked the movie a star. In conclusion, anyone who review bombed this film before it even came out is an idiot. Say you hate fun and be done with it. The rest of us will be whistling and enjoying some apple pie."
" I wanted to like it but there’s nothing really fresh about it. Every Disney Princess movie since 2010. Has been about them not needing to be rescued by a man.
Rachel Zegler got hate because she honestly said exactly what the movie is like. There’s no Prince and it is barely faithful to the movie it is based on.
Disney picked the wrong animated film to not be faithful to and show some respect to. When Snow White and the Seven Dwarves put Disney animated films on the map.
They just copied and pasted what they thought would work with today’s audiences. So they might as well not even have made it at all. Since not like Snow White and the Huntsman or Mirror Mirror don’t exist.
The whole movie being about Snow White staying as kind as her parents wanted. Also felt like it was straight from the live action Cinderella but done better in that.
I also want to throw in that the original photo of Seven diverse people. That fans mistook for the Seven dwarfs are actually in the movie. The love interest thief has his own exactly Seven allies. Which is pretty silly too."
"It’s time Disney put a halt on their production until a re-org happens. Terrible cast, every single one of them especially Gal. Horrible acting, zero creativity and out of tune musical! Pls keep original Disney movies as is, stop reproducing them into garbage. "

"This was enjoyable. I loved the colors and costumes. The CGI was well done. The lead as Snow White had a strong voice. The enchanted forest was nicely done. The last scene of the evil queen's transition was reminiscent of some creature from Game of Thrones. Some of the characters' decisions were dumb but so were they in the original (which I never rewatch). I'll rewatch it when it comes out on TV. Bonus points for Whistle While You Twerk (Work) being the song in their hearts 😆."
"I expected it to be bad but was shocked by the humor, characters, adaptation, music, & plot.
Don't get me wrong, both Snow White & the Evil Queen should've been recasted. Politics aside, I don't think the main girl embodied Snow White. In Hunger Games style, she was more of a Katniss than a Primrose, & Snow White is definitely a Primrose. She just never showed that pure innocence or kindness. In fact, when she's supposed to be kind, she acts more passive than anything. That's even the vibe you get. It just doesn't fit.
Same for the Evil Queen. Although both myself & my friends agree, she made an excellent Hag. Played that moment perfectly. No joke. She just truly embodied that experience. Every other time, felt like a good person pretending to be evil. Maybe they just picked an actress who embodies good (Honestly they could've switched them & it mightve worked better).
We were worried how the apple scene would play out. Then as we watched it happen, we were so surprised. It just kept getting better & working! What the heck? Like they actually did that scene justice while still updating to the new current story. Insane.
Now the dwarves & Jonatthan. Holy frig they saved this movie. He was funny & the others just worked. In fact, I was okay with the CGI dwarves at the end. I liked it. Jon is a true saving grace & casted perfectly. Nobody else could've done better.
Finally the music. It improved significantly. The evil queen song needed someone more in depth with rap, but it was a good song, she just couldn't pull it off. I'm looking forward to a cover of it. Then other songs stuck with me & moved me like a Disney movie should. I'm actually still in shock.
Overall, there are some writing problems, I'll mention in a reply. The two main definitely needed recasted. They just couldn't embody their characters. The music is good, the new characters work, I like the tie-ins, & I enjoy the adaptation. Plus the animals. . .adorable! I actually plan to rewatch it."
"I'll stick with the original animated. I don't understand all the hate on Gal , I thought she was the only one who was well cast. A musical I could understand if only Snow and the Dwarves sang , but because everyone did it was cringy at times. I hated that the dwarves were CGI ... really ?!?! There were some cute and cool moments but they were few and far apart. "
