"Waste of time and money, premise was ok but the gore and stupidity of some scenes well…."

"I've never played the original game and know nothing about it, but I still had a good time at the theater watching Until Dawn's adaptation. There were quite a few people watching in my showing and one of the people sitting in front of me had priceless reactions - to the movie and the previews as well (especially the one for Megan 2.0). I was pleasantly surprised to realize Odessa A'zion was playing Nina (she also plays Stephanie in Ghosts (you know, she's the prom night chainsaw ghost!) and it's always good to see Peter Stormare."
"This is loosely based on a video game of the same name. A sister and some friends follow in the tracks of a friend that disappeared. They get her last known whereabouts and its some resort. Shortly after arriving they are all killed and wake up to repeat the cycle. They need to find a way to break the cycle before something bad permanently happens to them. This was like a slasher groundhogs' day where the only guarantee is that they will all die. However, they kept things fresh by showing them die in different ways. They retain the knowledge but since they don't die in the same way they still need to piece things together and survive the night. Some decent kills and gore, however the montage of kills found on a cell phone appeared to be far more interesting than the ones they actually showed. Outside of the set up the plot doesn't make a whole lot of sense. The bad guy and his motivations are clear but they really don't explain why, how he knew to do this or what there is really to gain from all this. Without that this falls a bit flat and all you are left with is waiting for the next death sequence. Just ok. Not something you need to hurry up and watch. "I’m a sucker for time travel and time loop movies, horror or otherwise! I didn’t find out this was based on a game until I saw some of the other comments here 😅 but I guess that made it better for me because I had no expectations whatsoever going in other than expecting there to be a time loop element. After the Happy Death Day movies I didn’t think it was possible to pull off another time loop horror film that could be sufficiently entertaining and have me on the edge of my seat at the same time but this movie did it, I enjoyed it! I definitely recommend!"
"People rely on trailers too much. Fans of the game expected the movie to be nothing like it. I saw the movie today figuring it is more like the game than fans thought.
I was right. Although the movie isn’t as thrilling or scary as the game. The Easter eggs are enjoyable for fans.
I smiled when I started seeing locations and sets exactly like the game. Or even heard the wendigos.
